👏U.S. President pardons federal cannabis convictions The thousands of persons awaiting trial at U.S. federal courts and D.C. for just possessing cannabis will now be set free and the crime will be expunged from their records. President Joe Biden gave the executive order on October 6; offering hope for full cannabis decriminalize soon.
“No one should be in jail just for using or possessing marijuana,” Biden said. He has asked the Department of Health and Human Services and the office of the Attorney General to start reviewing how cannabis is scheduled under federal law.
❌Nevada Board of Pharmacy is wrong Another win for cannabis in Nevada! In 2000 the state legalized cannabis for medical use, and cannabis was supposed to be removed from the list of Schedule 1 Drugs. However, the Nevada Board of Pharmacy tasked with the duty, did not remove it. As a result, the state has been convicting people for even possessing cannabis, including a man named Antoine Poole, even after cannabis became legalized for recreational use in 2017.
In April, Poole joined the Cannabis Equity and Inclusion Community to sue the Nevada Board of Pharmacy. Judge Joe Hardy Jr., who was presiding on the case, gave a judgment in their favor, ordering the Board of Pharmacy to re-schedule cannabis. In the coming weeks, the judge will also decide whether the Board will continue to regulate cannabis in the state.
⛰️Ford's mega-plants create great jobs For over a hundred years, Ford Motors has been playing a pivotal role in revolutionizing the fossil fuel auto industry right from its Highland Park, Michigan factory. The legendary automaker has continued that legacy for another 100 years in the emerging EV industry from the new EV manufacturing and battery plants now under construction in West Tennessee and Kentucky.
The facilities will be 100% sustainable and will create up to 11,000 jobs when they become operational in 2025. In addition, they will enable Ford to achieve its annual EV production goal of 2 million units globally by late 2026. As Executive Chair, Bill Ford said, "Aspiring to have 100% renewable energy, zero waste to landfill and reusing water means we can help make sure our planet is in it for the long haul." Heck ya!
