✨Build Your Dreams This is the name of the Chinese electric mobility manufacturer, aka BYD. It is a unique company that makes buses, trucks, forklifts, EVs, sky-trains, batteries and more. Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway has been investing in the conglomerate for over 15 years.
BYD has now created an EV with a price tag of around $15K USD, the model is called Qin Plus EV. While the electric buses are made in Lancaster, California and for sale in the US, the passenger EVs are not available in the US. For over ten years, BYD has been building its US headquarters in Los Angeles, and has grown to a unionized workforce of nearly 800 employees in Lancaster. Yes, they are hiring!
🫘Bezos Earth Fund With a commitment to help fix the Earth's climate crisis; in 2020, Amazon's billionaire founder, Jeff Bezos will use $10 billion to help solve those problems. He created the Bezos Earth Fund to help support people and organizations who are fighting global warming.
From that $10 billion, $60 million will be directed to further development of plant-based and sustainable proteins products. Looking to inform consumers of the double benefit to both an individual's health and Earth's temperature, the fund will launch campaigns explaining advantages of consuming more beans and plant-based foods. It's good to see billionaires leaning into the green future with billions of greenbacks!

🥊The EU isn't playing Called the DMA (Digital Markets Act), it was devised by EU leadership to control Big Tech. Six "gatekeeper" companies will need to comply with the newest rules. Meta (parent company of Facebook, Instagram, Threads an WhatsApp), Apple, Alphabet (parent company of Google and YouTube), TikTok and Microsoft and Amazon.
"What we need right here from gatekeepers... is changing behavior," said Vestager, the Executive VP European Commission for a Europe Fit for the Digital Competition Commission. From many perspectives the big 6 tech giants have a monopoly and have made it impossible for competitors to survive.
Here are some examples that the DMA requires the gatekeepers change their behaviors. They must stop preventing users from linking up to businesses outside their platforms. Stop tracking end users outside of the gatekeepers' platform service for the purpose of targeted advertising, without effective consent having been granted. There are several other items and there are consequences and financial penalties for non-compliance.

🎊Campers say hello to Rivian R2 It's not here yet, but the Rivian EV R2 model can be reserved now for $100. It's scheduled to be released in 2026, with a base starting price of $45K.
The R2 SUV has an after market treehouse rooftop tent that makes car camping fabulous. Based in Irvine California, Rivian is looking to make driving EVs really fun and the makes surfing and camping very easy. The R2 comes equipped with the universal charging ports designed by Tesla called NACS.
🚰Water in batteries? Scientists in Melbourne, Australia are making some (good) waves in the battery arena. They have made a recyclable water battery. The more scientific name is aqueous metal-ion battery and it will not catch on fire and is not hazardous to recycle. The green battery is also about 60% cheaper to make than a lithium battery and lasts longer. #LeaningForward
