📈Making EV strides Most consumers have said that their concern about EVs is the lack of charging stations. According to the US National Renewable Energy Lab, there were over 142,000 charging stations by Q3 in 2023. The goal of the Biden Administration is 500,00 charging stations by 2030; designed to have one EV charging station every 50 miles on major highways.
🙄VW's $27K EV delayed With a recent delivery date goal of 2025, VW has recently announced that it will be 2026 before the ID 2all EV will be available to consumers. The long awaited EV promises a price tag of $27,000. Volkswagen will release an SUV model sometime in 2027 with a $35,000 price tag.
However, VW moves in various ways and the global auto maker is backing a Chinese EV maker called JAC Group. VW owns 50% of JAG, which is the parent company of JAC Group. The JAC Group owns a new Chinese EV maker called Yiwei. The new EV maker released the first EV to be powered by sodium-ion battery, which are cheaper and charge faster that lithium batteries.

🔋Better EV batteries California-based, QuantumScape has been in the EV battery game since 2010. In 2020 it created a proprietary EV battery with ceramic material inside the battery. It also developed a 24-layer solid state battery that will extend EV battery life enormously.
VW invested $100 million in QuantumScape in 2020, and it looks like it's going to pay off. All rechargeable batteries in cell phones, power tools, EVs, etc.. gradually lose their ability to charge back to 100%. This new battery by QuantumScape will retain 95% charging ability even after charging 300,000 miles. This is an outstanding development for only 5% charging loss, and it beats industry standards by well over 25%. They're hiring!
📶Microsoft is pushing AI hard Microsoft is a company that has gone deep into the AI waters. In 2024 the keyboard on all their computers will have a "copilot key". It will launch Window's Copilot chatbot/app when pressed. If you like ChatGPT, this will help you use it more often; get ready for new computing modes.
🌊Saving sea creatures Is eel one of those delicacies you love to eat? Unfortunately like most seafood, it is being overfished. An Israel-based food company, Steakholder Foods, is now adding value to the over $4.2 billion global industry by making plant-based eel with a 3-D printer. In the near future, Steakholder Foods plans to be cultivating eel cells and making lab grown eels.
Konscious Foods from Vancouver makes plant-based sushi rolls, poke bowls and more. Products are now available in the frozen section of Whole Foods stores, some Vons and Sprouts. Founder Chef Yves Potvin has been obsessed with making "better-for-you-foods" for nearly 25 years. Would you try and report back?
💸Save money and save the environment Food waste is not only a crying shame, it harms the environment. The cost on natural resources to grow it, and the fuel used to transport it deteriorates the planet. To add insult to injury, that wasted food often is taken to a landfill. Try to order less, eat less and eat your leftovers. You will be rewarded by almost $1500 savings in your personal finances.
