🤬COP28 What the... The 28th global climate summit is still underway in Dubai. It will end on December 12, and one hopes back on a sane track. The global oil cartel, OPEC was trying to commandeer the focus from fossil phase out (no more fossil fuels) to reducing fossil fuel emissions (keep using fossil fuels).
Oil executive, Sultan Al Jaber lied and said, “there is no science out there, or no scenario out there, that says the phase-out of fossil fuel is what’s going to achieve 1.5.” It's time to do all that can be done to lean forward on global warming prevention, call out the climate deniers so we can leave the Earth better for future generations.
🇪🇸Spanish media outlets sue Meta Meta is the parent company of Facebook, and it is being sued by over 80 media companies in Spain. The plaintiffs want $600 million for unfair competition practices, and claim Meta is in violation of the EU's General Data Protection Regulations that were established in 2018.
The global social media giant that started out as a college technology as a way to scan women to date, has really become a bit of a Frankenstein monster. That is something we can all control by either speaking out or refusing to use very much at all. We all have choices, let's start using them better.

🏃♀️YouTube will force ads on you Google has been around since 1998, and in 2015 it became one of many companies under the parent company called Alphabet. Alphabet owns YouTube. Do you like YouTube?
Ad blockers allow site users to avoid being sabotaged by advertisements. YouTube is going to prevent ad-blockers to work on its platform. Alphabet makes billions of dollars by selling ads and forces users to see them or they cannot view the YouTube content. Alphabet owns at least seven other tech platforms. It's important to know who what is going on with the tech we all use, right?
🏆Cornell engineering thinking green Look at these letters: IPHROS. They could possibly represent the next huge development in sustainable lifestyles. Assistant professor Maha Haji and doctoral student Matthew Haefner have devised a way to create fresh water and energy clean storage.
In a published report, they support the development of integrating reverse osmosis with energy storage in a "symbiotic way." IPHROS stands for: Integrated Pumped Hydro Reverse Osmosis System. Their model uses excess clean energy from the power grid to pump water from a lower reservoir to an upper reservoir. This can create hydropower for powering the reverse osmosis to desalinate the water. This would solve so many problems, and truly represents the integration of technology, culture and sustainability.
Stay Curious... Who are we?
Fun question of the day:
