🎉A victory in Montana Finally the youth have great news on the environmental front, as teen activists for a healthful environment have scored a major victory in the state of Montana. In the June 19 issue of AGREEN1, we shared that 16 young plaintiffs would be pleading their case before a Montana state judge on August 14.
Their claim stated that Montana was negligent in enforcing the environmental protections granted to them in the Montana Constitution:
(1) The state and each person shall maintain and improve a clean and healthful environment in Montana for present and future generations.
(2) The legislature shall provide for the administration and enforcement of this duty.
(3) The legislature shall provide adequate remedies for the protection of the environmental life support system from degradation and provide adequate remedies to prevent unreasonable depletion and degradation of natural resources.
Their victory created a court order. District Court Judge Kathy Seely ruled that permits for fossil fuel projects must require environmental impact analysis and GHG emission calculations to adhere to the state's Constitution. Well done to those forward-leaning planet activists!

🌿Pro wrestler to Governor to cannabis brand Ever heard of Jesse Ventura? He originally gained fame through professional wrestling. He became the 38th Governor of Minnesota, his home state. He was also a Navy Seal at a tender age of 18. Now he has his sights on creating a cannabis brand.
While Governor of Minnesota, Ventura became an outspoken advocate of cannabis when his wife suddenly developed seizures and forcing him to make difficult decisions. He had to break the law to travel to Colorado to obtain cannabis because the government approved pharmaceuticals did not help her and she risked swallowing her tongue randomly numerously times every week. At that time, cannabis was completely illegal in Minnesota.
At 72 years old, Ventura also now uses cannabis to treat numbness in his feet, insomnia and PTSD. It will be interesting to see what products he will produce to bear his name.
🤚Bamboo bicycle Wait for it... in Havana Cuba you can forget the metal and bring the wood. Velo Cuba is a bike company like no other. They create bicycles using eco-friendly bamboo.
The women-led organization teams up with the deaf community, stay at home mothers and others to craft these unique bicycles. On the tiny island where resources are tight, they have discovered a way to keep cycling alive.
🪫Battery swaps Not yet popular in the U.S. but gathering more acceptance in China, Spain and now Japan, is battery swapping for EVs. San Francisco-based Ample is a battery swapping tech firm with projects locally, and in Madrid and coming soon to Japan to work with Mitsubishi's EV trucks.
The idea is to provide various options to EV battery charging. Diversification will help pull this EV revolution towards development and better adoption. This video shows that Ample's battery swapping took less than 6.5 minutes. In time it will get even faster.
🌊Taking action in Portland Maine Laura Marston in South Portland, Maine had one inspiring New Year's resolution: ditch single-use plastic water bottles. That led her to realize that single-use plastic is freakin' everywhere. Reduce, reuse and use recycled was her new mantra.
With eyes wide open, Laura founded GoGo Refills, where customers can kick their plastic habit too and pay by the ounce to refill products like shampoos, dish soaps, body soaps, cleaning products, lotions, deodorants and much more. Ever heard of a reusable swab? Those single use cotton swabs can be your old bad habit. So many fabulous products for (self) gifting, you might want to have a look!
Stay Curious... Who are we?
Fun question of the day:
Do EV swapping stations sound good to you?
Who are we?
Have you ever tried CBD products?
80% of respondents said YES
Thanks again for being you. Until the next issue, be sure to add more green to your life!
