💸2022 LA Auto Show highlights Finally made it to the LA Auto Show and it was more than cars. Hyundai had a display demonstrating their integrated Home Energy System, complete with an energy management app, home EV chargers and storage units and of course their EVs: KONA Electric, NEXO Hydrogen fuel cell and their wide range of hybrids. Hyundai is also partnering with Lyft to provide driveless ride-hailing or "robo-taxi" services.
Aventura escooter offers a classic look and even a sidecar option. Blink Charging was there to answer questions about home charging and their full suite of charging and storage products. The Inflation Reduction Act creates great incentives, tax credits and rebates, so definitely worth considering. The integration of clean energy lifestyle options is growing and is getting a little more attention, finally!
👍Fiat EVs coming Fiat’s city car, the Fiat 500, has made a mark for the Italian automobile manufacturer in North America. It isn’t just that the Fiat 500 was the first vehicle sold by Fiat in the continent after the Second World War, but its reintroduction in 2011 also helped Fiat rebuild its presence lost after the car industry crisis in the late 1980s.
Now the car will spearhead Fiat’s EV introduction in North America with Fiat 500e. At the Los Angeles Auto Show held last week, Fiat CEO Olivier Francois said the Fiat 500e will be available in 2024. The EV official launch will happen next year! It is currently the best selling EV in Germany.

Apple concept EV We are still awaiting details from Apple concerning its next-generation EV, the Apple Car 1, which might debut before 2028. Automotive designer Alef Chaugule’s recent design reveals more details.
From Chaugule’s designs, the Apple Car 1 would be a sports car resembling the Apple’s wireless Magic Mouse. The EV might also have Level 5 self-driving and wireless charging capabilities. Until Apple unveils the EV prototype in 2024, we will continue to stay tuned for more reports.
🍁Historic cannabis bill signed into law The Medical Marijuana and Cannabidiol Research Expansion Act, a bill to expand research into cannabis-derived medications, passed the U.S. House of Representatives in July. It was approved by the Senate in November, and signed by President Biden on December 2.
The research bill, sponsored by Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-California), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), and Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) will ensure that research on CBD and other potentially beneficial cannabis-derived substances are allowed access to sound science protocols, while also reducing regulatory barriers currently involved with cannabis research. The bill also requires the Department of Health and Human Services and the National Institutes of Health to submit a report to Congress on the potential harms and benefits of cannabis use.

🏠Backyard homes can help Like some other prefab home builders, Samara is devoted to constructing sustainable ADUs, ranging between studio-type buildings and one-bedroom units. The California-base sustainable startup recently rolled out its first selections, which are about the cleanest homes from any prefab home builder.
Collectively known as Backyard homes, they come with solar panels and utilize all-electric appliances. They also have an air-filtration system to keep the air cleaner and healthier. The homes even have enough space to set up studios or workstations. The design process for Backyard takes place on the company’s website, where a simple interface prompts people to choose and customize their unit’s features. Backyard studio units start at $289,000, while the one-bedroom start at $329,000, including installation costs. The reservation deposit cost is $250.
😡$275 million fine on Meta Meta’s latest privacy violation resulted with a huge fine. Within the last two years, the tech giant has faced more than four intercontinental penalties over data breaching and privacy issues. Just this September, a European Union privacy regulator, the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) penalized Instagram for exposing information about child users.
On November 28, the DPC imposed a €265 million ($275 million USD) on Meta after confirming the allegations. The DPC said that Facebook violated the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) concerning Data Protection by Design and Default. The DPC also requires the tech company to provide full compliance by February. In a statement release, Meta said it has already rectified the issue. Heard that before many times now!
