🛞Compact EVs rolling out Stellantis Automotive is the product of the merger of Peugeot and Fiat Chrysler in 2021. By Q4 of 2024, they are planning to release 47 EV models. It could be more for their world-wide market. According to CEO, Carlos Tavares, those EVs will have 400-435 mile battery range per charge.
The new EV platform, STLA Medium platform, will help Stellantis keep up with China. Tavares said his company expects to roll out nearly 2 million EVs annually. Going forward, all Stellantis EVs will be produced on one of four platforms around the world: STLA Small, Medium, Large and Frame. Stay tuned!
🇵🇪Peruvian cuisine Ancient civilizations mix with modern foodie appeal in South America. Peruvian chef Virgilio Martinez wants the modern world to know that his country is special. He has two award winning restaurants (Central and MIL) and he has partnered with Inca Expert Travel to offer deliciously curated travel tours of Peru. There are various itineraries that will safely guide travelers to the majestic Incan ruins and feed the soul with Chef Martinez's magical cuisine.
Chef Martinez's Central restaurant was voted #1 on The World's Best Restaurant 2023competition sponsored by Acqua Panna and S. Pellegrino, so it's definitely worth the effort!
🛸Joby Aviation is not alone The FAA has now provided a Special Airworthiness Certification to Alef Aeronautics. The AGREEN1 July 3 issue covered Joby Aviation and their Special Airworthiness Certification for eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing) for short distance air taxi purposes.
Alef is different, it is a car that can also fly! See AGREEN1 the November 7, 2022 issue for more. Alef like Joby, is also a California-based eVTOL company. The latter is for commercial application while Alef is targeting individual consumers. According to Alef's CEO, they already have many pre-orders for the flying car with a $300,000 price tag. The estimated delivery date is 2025.
They call their flying car the Model A. It's 100% electric (a more expensive hydrogen option is offered). It looks and drives on roads like an EV, and it can take to the sky in a vertical motion and fly 110 miles. Lean forward, we're going Back to the Future!
🏎️High School Student EVs The Solar Car Challenge 2023 is coming up July 13-15. This worthy hands-on learning event first launched in 1989. It is a competition for high school students to design and drive their solar EVs from Texas to California, a trek of 925 miles. It's a long way from the Soap Box Derby days of the last century.
In its 34th year, this begs the question: what has taken so long for the transition to EVs?
Stay Curious... Who are we?
Fun question of the day:
Do you feel like the EV transition is long over due?
Who are we?
Last fun question of the day: Would you ride in a Joby air taxi?
10% of respondents said YES
Thanks again for being you. Until the next issue, be sure to add more green to your life!
