🌎Green industry jobs booming Getting any ‘good-paying’ white-collar job in the United States usually requires people to spend at least four years obtaining a college degree. However, in the green energy sector, the situation has been different. Jobs in the solar and wind energy sectors only require people to attend a 2-year renewable energy training program.
This sector has had the fastest-rising job-creation rate since 2018. In the last eight months since President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act, the industry has employed more than 100,000 workers. Michael Gengler, a wind professor at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa, told USA TODAY he receives emails weekly from green energy companies asking to hire his students. His experience is similar to that of several other solar and wind college professors in the U.S., including Michael “Kit" Thompson, director of the renewables program at Cloud County Community College in Concordia. Experts expect jobs in the green energy sector to reach 9 million by 2030.

🌳More green investments in California Seaports in the United States have long needed to improve their disastrous carbon footprints, so it is exciting that the change is finally happening. The Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach—the two busiest ports in the country—used to produce some 100 tons of smog every day, more than the daily emissions of about six million cars in California. Most of those emissions came from heavy-duty fossil fuel-based trucks used to move containers to ships and warehouses.
About one year ago, California mandated phasing out all fossil fuel-based trucks from the Ports by 2035, causing the Ports to slowly start embracing electric options. Now companies such as the investment firm BlackRock Inc. (BLK.N), and real estate firm CBRE Group (CBRE.N), and warehouse giant Prologis Inc. (PLD.N) see an investment opportunity around charging stations. They have mapped out to invest over $1 billion to build charging stations in the Ports and along freight routes. The California Energy Commission (CEC) has estimated that the state needs to install up to 157,000 medium and heavy-duty chargers by 2030 to meet its clean-energy target. So the race is now on!

🏃🏽Google hacked, update required Being the most popular internet browser makes you wealthier than your competition, but it puts you at risk of being frequently attacked by hackers. On April 18, Google offered a patch for an attack days earlier, which could affect over 3 billion users.
It impacts Chrome on Windows, Linux, and Mac. Called the CVE-2023-2023, Google said it could allow attackers to bypass modern-hardware securities and access users' browsing history. Fortunately, the tech company has now released a new Chrome browser with the vulnerability fixed. While Google did not say whether some users’ browsing history got exploited, the technology company said users must update their browsers immediately.
To update your Chrome browser, locate and click About Google Chrome through the Help icon, which you can find when you open the three vertical dots in the browser's top right corner. Chrome will update automatically, and then you must restart the browser.
🤬#@!ing hackers! Year in, and year out, mobile technology owners have had to battle with hackers. It has been a nightmare, which has not been ending well for their users who lose their data to hackers in at least two out of five different attacks. But the saddest thing involved in this hacking stream is that attackers usually go on to sell the information they have stolen for a tremendous profit.
Over 80 million users' information stolen from over 1.5 million compromised computers worldwide has been marketed on Genesis Market since its inception in 2018. Unfortunately there are thousands of other sites like it. The United States Department of Justice, in collaboration with the European Union Agency of Law Enforcement Cooperation (or Europol), took down two of them last year, known as Hydra Market and BreachForums.
They have also dismantled Genesis and arrested over 119 of the site's users last week. Although the fight is not yet over, the good news is that the DOJ is fully committed to cleaning up the internet—a mission dubbed International Cyber Operation. Also, technology owners are now more attentive and increasing their investment in cyber security to stop hackers even from penetrating their platforms.
😧Have you been hacked? Technology is now in every area of all our lives. AGREEN1 exists to help our subscribers stay on top of their choices and various safeguards so tech stays beneficial and not a danger. To know if your email or cell number has been involved in a security breach, you can go to Have I Been Pwned.com to know quickly identify how and if you identify was breached.
⚾Play ball CBD! Plant-based recreational drinks have reached another milestone in American sports. The Major League Baseball (MLB) also recently announced that baseball's Chicago Cubs reached a sponsorship deal with MYND DRINKS. As a result, Chicago Cubs will offer CBD drinks produced by MYND DRINKS during games and display signs advertising the plant-based beverage brand at its Wrigley Stadium. The deal, reached on April 7, also gives Chicago Cubs international marketing rights to MYND products in the U.K. for the 2023 baseball regular season.
Back on October 17, AGREEN announced that Charlotte's Web became the official CBD for MLB. Prior to that, BioSteel maker of plant-based sports hydration drinks, and became the official hydration sponsor of the National Hockey League, National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) and the US Soccer.
