🦋New social media app The internet and our computerized way of communicating is still evolving. That's why AGREEN1 is focused on the integration of technology, culture and sustainability at a personal and global level. Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter, has helped with the creation of Bluesky social.
This platform is decentralized and much more forward-leaning than other platforms. It's also one of the very few social platforms with a female CEO. Until February 6, it was only available to join via invitation while the wrinkles were ironed out. It is now open to all to join. AGREEN1 is onboard, and the handle is: agreen1.bsky.social.

💍A jeweler using recycled metals Pandora is the name of a music app, and it's also the name of global jeweler based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The jewelry is beautiful and they have taken a hard look at their carbon footprint. In order to make their organization more sustainable, they are using recycled silver, and reducing their current carbon footprint to thirty percent of what it was.
Pandora is also using recycled gold. By doing so, it will only use 1% of the carbon emitting process required for mining virgin gold. They have strong partnership with dedicated suppliers who have helped them reach their goals ahead of schedule. By the end of 2024, Pandora will use 100% recycle metals on all new jewelry.
🌞Solar farm in Colorado Imagine a solar farm that is 8 miles long and 1 mile wide. It's being planned on the Ute Mountain Ute tribe reservation in Colorado, and is scheduled to break ground this year. Called the Sun Bear Solar Project, the tribe is aiming to create the gold standard for solar farm projects.
The massive solar farm will be one of the biggest in the US when it is completed in 2026. It was important to the tribe that the project included environmental preservation over the 4,000 acres and beyond. The tribe will be able to cover its energy needs and sell the extra power to Colorado and the national energy grid.
🚶🏻♀️Walkable city prototype Under forty years old and car-free for 13 years... in Arizona? The CEO and co-founder of culdesac, Ryan Johnson has been car-free for 13 years. His vision of a walkable city broke ground in Tempe, Arizona in 2019.
It's really happening. The love affair with automobiles is fading. Many, and possibly most Americans dream about living in a walkable city. To them, autos are expensive, polluting, noisy, land hogs and even dangerous. Culdesac is designed a bit like a college campus, and their tagline is "The first car-free neighborhood built from scratch in the US!" It's nice to have strong options, right?
🌊When the ice melts Earthlings…Do you remember that we have 5 oceans: Indian, Arctic, Atlantic, Pacific and Antarctic. Well, the Atlantic Ocean is on the path to big problems.
The icebergs and ice sheets that are melting around Greenland due to global warming are the cause.
The fresh water from the melting icebergs and ice sheets is making the water in the Atlantic less salty. It needs to be salty to ensure that the oceans and air both circulate properly. It’s called the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), and oceanographers refer to it as the thermostat of the Earth.
Australia and South America will get hotter, and the East Coast of the US will experience more rain, sea levels rising up to 3 feet and cooling temperatures in England, France, Germany and other parts of Western Europe. Do your part to help prevent this. Back away from fossil fuels and plastics, and use as many alternatives products and services to them as possible.
Stay Curious... Who are we?
Fun question of the day:
Did you watch the Super Bowl last week?
Who are we?
Did you ever ride in a VW van from the 1960s-1970s?
73% of respondents said YES
Thanks again for being you. Until the next issue, be sure to add more green to your life!
