🗣️Speaking out and speaking up In Montana a group of young plaintiffs and a team of lawyers are requesting that a state judge allow them to plead their case. They are going for a first in the environmental justice sector that speaks about the rights of citizens.
Citing measurable environmental damages and degradation to wildlife habitat, air quality, water scarcity and the emotional damage to themselves and other citizens from record levels of forest fires, and the continued existential threat to their lives; the 5-22 year-olds want the state of Montana to scale back fossil-fuel projects and to pursue renewable and clean energy sources.
The claimants reference a neglect of Montana’s environmental protections which are enshrined in the state Constitution:
(1) The state and each person shall maintain and improve a clean and healthful environment in Montana for present and future generations.
(2) The legislature shall provide for the administration and enforcement of this duty.
(3) The legislature shall provide adequate remedies for the protection of the environmental life support system from degradation and provide adequate remedies to prevent unreasonable depletion and degradation of natural resources.
🇫🇮When a negative is a positive Extra renewable energy in Finland caused electricity prices to go less than zero. That's right, electricity prices were negative and that's a huge positive for the environment and all Finnish citizens.
Ironically, during the winter months the country was in fear of not having enough electricity. After refusing to buy from Russian energy suppliers, citizens were asked to be more conservative in their personal usage. By utilizing the country's renewable energy sources from wind, hydro, and nuclear, and by making an effort to use less, the Finnish people are back in control and are on target to be 100% carbon neutral by 2035.
👏The EV evolution It's turning into a charging party and Tesla is the humble host. Less than 2 weeks ago, GM followed suit behind Ford to adopt Tesla's supercharging capability. Tesla's charging connector, the North American Charging Standard nows looks to be the dominate charging port.
NACS has beaten the competition, the Combined Charging System (CCS), and either has or will be adopted by EV charging stations: EVgo, Blink, ChargePoint and Tritium. To the winner goes the spoils, and by sharing its proprietary charging system, Tesla can tap into $7.5 billion in federal subsidies. Sounds like a good move for the companies involves, all shareholders and the EV evolution to a cleaner environment for all.
🏇Reformation is what's hot Sustainable fashion is so comfortable and still a little pricey. But boy, is it ever worth it. According to Los Angeles-based Reformation, vintage clothing (remanufactured fashion) can save 13,000 lbs of CO2 emissions/per person every year. Simply reusing already fabulous clothing helps improve the environment and the climate. You can be the change and in style.
Have a look at Reformation's summer fashion lineup. If you see "Tencel," it's fabric made from Eucalyptus trees. It's soft like cotton but uses 1/5th of the land and 80% less water than growing cotton. They aim to "source 98% of their fabrics from recycled, regenerative, or renewable materials by 2025."

🎉China's EV technology By the end of 2023, China's EV battery manufacturer, Greater Bay Technology will be providing GAC Aion with a battery pack that charges from 0-80% in 8 minutes. The battery will also offer over 620 miles of range and will not lose battery charge in cold temperatures. GAC's model Avion V LX Plus will have this battery pack. Other EV makers will be buying Greater Bay Technology's battery packs, and demand will be very high.
GAC is the same company that built their battery swap station over a year ago. Replacingan EV's battery occurs in under 3 minutes and the company will replace the battery to up to 8,000 cycles. This is a giant leap in EV battery technology and solves a major problem in the ICE vs. EV concerns. While GAC doesn't have an EV model that deploys battery exchange systems, it's coming soon.
