👛The Merge of Ethereum It happened on September 15. The long awaited "Merge" that will reduce Ethereum's energy consumption by 99.9% by changing from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus algorithm. Ethereum's co- founder, Vitalik Buterin said even after the Merge, it is only only 55% complete.
In order for Ethereum to be more useful and to scale properly, it needs to become faster and cheaper. The Merge will allow "sharding" to occur which will address those two functions. Sharding is a process that separates the Ethereum blockchain into smaller blockchains that are verified faster and are more maneuverable. The soonest this will happen is 2023.

🚅Electric hybrid jet-train The emission of greenhouse gases is just one of the many issues with modern-day transportation systems, along with cost and time. Although the world’s current focus is on emissions impacting the climate crisis, a Canadian company designing ultra-high-speed transportation technology and vehicles is poised to solve all three problems for Canada.
In July, TransPod unveiled an advanced all-electric passenger train. The company said it is faster than a jet. The all-electric train called FluxJet will be able to convey up to 54 passengers across Canadian cities in just minutes. It will cost much less than the cheapest airline, and it will also cut CO2 emissions by 636,000 tonnes annually. TransPod has started constructing stations for the train, and is expected to create 140,000 green jobs and add $19.2 billion to Canada’s GDP.

🌞California's solar equity coming Californian renters and low-income residents have limited access to renewable energy, making the state’s climate goal less achievable. To address the challenge, Assemblymember Chris Ward (D-San Diego) introduced AB 2316earlier this year to establish a community renewable energy program. The bill passed in both the House and Senate and it arrived on Gov. Newsom's desk on September 9.
AB 2316 requires that at least 51% of recipients be low-income earners, far more ambitious than Virginia's 30%. Those served by So Cal Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric and PG&E will have access to this program. AB 2316 provides funding and incentives for community renewable energy projects, such as solar farms and storage batteries, mainly on open lands in underserved areas and communities affected by air pollution from dirty power plants. The bill also reduces electricity costs for low-income families who subscribe to the project.

🏍️Electric motorcycle concept The electric motorcycle market has yet to witness the kind of explosion the EV industry has. Companies like Harley-Davidson and BMW have released electric motorbikes that are pretty much fancy-looking, but this WAYRA EV-03electric cruiser motorcycle spells rugged, adventure, cruise, and elegance. Designer Pablo Baranoff Dorn is behind this conceptual design. If made, would you love to ride this e-bike?
🤑$310 million is a lot of green Gotham Greens, a sustainable indoor farm based in New York, has raised over $310 million in a Series E funding round. The company attracted new investors in the round, including BMO Impact Investment Fund, owned by Bank of Montreal, which led the round. Gotham Greens is now worth $440 million and plans to use the funds to expand nationwide. It is constructing new green farms in Texas, Georgia, and Colorado and is expanding its existing facilities in Chicago and Rhode Island.
Gotham Greens targets to produce 100 million heads of lettuce annually using 95% less water and 97% less land, and expects to create more and more clean, green jobs.
