🤞U.S. government shares first crypto framework U.S. agencies have been busy since President Biden’s March 9 Executive Order (EO) on crypto and the digital assets industries. On September 16, the White House released a statement containing a framework and policies recommended by the various agencies. According to the report, 16% of adult Americans have purchased digital assets and the global market cap is already around $3 trillion. The demand is there, but is it safe enough?
The focus was on six key priorities, with emphasis on protecting people and businesses with investments in crypto and other digital assets, and on fighting crimes in the crypto market. Continued evaluation is required so the Federal Reserve, the National Economic Council, the National Security Council, the Office of Science and Technology Policy, and the Treasury Department are scheduled to meet frequently to discuss and share updates on CDBC and other payment solutions. Stay tuned!
😲Best Buy offers crypto safety France-based crypto hardware company, Ledger, has two new security hardware devices for crypto and NFTs, called Nano X and Nano S Plus. They are now available in all U.S. Best Buy stores.
Sadly, they were not available to help people who were collectively robbed of up to $6 million in Solana crypto in August. The hacker allegedly robbed "hot" wallets (crypto wallets that are often online) through a cross-chain loophole that enabled them to steal users' private keys. Ledger's devices safely keep private keys offline, out of hackers' reach.

💰China's using digital currency China is seeing a slow but steady adoption of its digital currency by its citizens. The world’s second-largest economy was the first country to introduce a digital currency dubbed e-CNY or e-renminbi (e-RMB) in 2014. China started promoting the e-CNY locally in 2020 and gave out millions of it to its citizens via lotteries last year, a strategy to help grow adoption of the new currency.
Earlier this year, China partnered with Chinese tech giants Alibaba and Tencent, owners of the two largest online payment systems in China, and Alipay and WeChat Pay, to help promote the e-CNY to an even greater Chinese population. In addition, China-based e-commerce company JD.com also started accepting the currency from customers. More than 11 million Chinese citizens in over 20 cities now transact using the e-CNY via a mobile app. China’s target is to get nearly half its citizens to adopt the currency in the coming year.
🛣️Cannabis Interstate Agreement Bill Among the bills signed into law by California Gov. Gavin Newsom on September 18, was SB 1326, which addresses the interstate cannabis business ban. Overall, the legislation is significant progress for the Golden State's cannabis market, and towards achieving federal legalization.
However, California cannabis businesses may not be able to legally do business with other states yet, as SB 1326 requires one of these four options to occur first: the federal government amends its cannabis prohibition law, or the U.S. Department of Justice issues a memorandum permitting the activity, or a federal law is passed that prohibits funding preventing interstate sales, or the U.S. Attorney General declares that the State of California has this right and that it will not be prosecuted by the federal government.
⛰️Mercedes G Series on the EV trail Action movie icon and former California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, admires EVs so much that he partnered with Austrian battery tech provider, Kreisel Electric, to convert a gas-powered G-Wagon to an EV in 2017.
Five years later, Mercedes decided to produce G-Series EV for all. During a recent media roundtable, the company's chairman Ola Källenius announced that the Mercedes G-Class EV will hit the market in 2024, “From now on, going off-road is electric” he said. Thank you, Arnold!
