🚁Mobility revolution Who's ready for some inter-city travel? Hyundai Motor Group is aiming for the skies. According to statements made at CES 2024, Supernal Aero, the air mobility department of Hyundai Motor Group, will be ready to launch its air taxi services in 2028.
AAM (Advanced Air Mobility) is the manifestation of Hyundia' belief that local travel by air is the next frontier. They're called eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take Off and Landing) vehicles. With headquarters in Washington D.C. Supernal designed the S-A2 to travel at 1,500 feet above the Earth at a speed of around 120 mph, ranging from 25-40 mile distances. These electric air vehicles could replace helicopters and offer quieter and cleaner skies for all. Yes, they are hiring!
🎊New domain names coming Over two years ago, AGREEN1 explained to dear readers about Web3. Currently we are still in the Web2 phase of the internet. Web3 is beginning to materialize. It will be decentralized and not controlled by one company. Web3 will allow users and creators to collect payment directly from purchaser.
GoDaddy is an internet domain registrar, DNS (Domain Name Service) and web hosting provider. For a fee, a user can buy a domain name from GoDaddy (and others), like AGREEN1.COM, and create content for the internet in the current Web2 phase. Now GoDaddy has partnered with ENS (Ethereum Name Service), which provides domain names that easily link to digital wallets. GoDaddy and the ENS partnership will help bridge the transition to Web3 by permitting users to connect their ENS wallet addresses with their existing DNS addresses.
👍Conversion from coal to renewable The world's largest energy plant is called Khavda Renewable Energy Park. It's five times bigger than the city of Paris, France. What's even greater than that is that it is being financed by India's most dominant coal mining and coal importing company, a conglomerate called the Adani Group.
Coal is still widely used by India's 3.1 billion population, but now there is a recognition that renewable and clean energy needs investment to make it a reality. AGEL is Adani Group's renewable energy arm, and it has dedicated $20 billion to the solar and wind Khavda Renewable Energy Park. The park should be completed by 2029.
🥊Nanoplastics in placentas and plaque Last month, researchers published their findings in Toxicological Sciences. Using high resolution scanning and extremely high speed ultracentrifuges to isolate the nanoparticles, the researchers found micro plastics in all 62 placenta samples in their possession.
"When applied to the 62 placenta samples the technique revealed that more than half of all plastics found in placenta are polyethylene – the most commonly produced plastic on our planet, responsible for most single-use bags and bottles. Other plastic particles identified in the placenta include polyvinyl chloride, nylon, and polypropylene, all of which are probably several decades old, having been weathered and oxidized for years in the environment before being inhaled or ingested by humans" reports Science Alert.
This month, researchers in Italy published their discovery of microplastics in artery-clogging plaque. Their study was published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Kick your plastics addiction today!
